Charlotte Helen McNichol was born on June 29, 2009 - at 1:17 pm, weighing in at 9 lbs 2 ounces and 20 inches long. We anxiously anticipated her arrival for 9 months (which seemed to have flown by). Now that she's been with us for 9 days, it seems like she's just always been a part of our family.
Maybe because we haven't really had a "bad" day yet (or quite possibly it's the vicodin haze), it seems that the transition from 1 to 2 kids has been much easier on us than 0 to 1 was. Matt and I comment every day on how much "easier" it is this time around. Don't get me wrong... there is nothing EASY about existing on 1 -3 hours of sleep a night while dealing with an almost 3 year olds tantrums... but it seems like Matt and I are much better equipped mentally to take on this new lifestyle.
It helps that Charlotte is an amazing baby. She is adorable, and sweet, and doesn't cry all that much. She loves to eat and sleep - except between the hours of 11 pm and 5 am that is! But we're working on it, and we've noticed marked improvement on the amount of time she spends awake during the days now.
All in all, Matt, myself and Reagan are thrilled with her presence in our family. We can't imagine life without her already and look forward to sharing our adventures as a new family of 4 with everyone!
