Well, I'm a few weeks late, but we just celebrated Charlotte's first birthday!! I can't believe my baby is 1! Charlotte celebrated in style, of course, with a nice family party on Sunday the 27th. Both sets of grandparents, and almost all of her aunts and uncles came out to party with us. Charlie girl was super tired though and pooped out before cake time. Instead of eating it, she sort of just smacked at it, rubbed it in her eyes, and cried.
Two days later, on her actual birthday, we tried again. She seemed to REALLY enjoy the ice cream cake this time! That's my girl!!
Charlie's 1 year stats:
21 lbs - 58%
30.25" - 85%
Charlotte is a typical one year old in every aspect. She is learning more words every day, and trying so hard to walk. She totally could do it, if she didn't overthink it so much!! We can see her consciously dropping to her knees and crawling usually - but on several occasions she has taken 2 or even 3 steps at a time before realizing what she's doing, and falling down.
She loves to make animal noises, and we love hearing her do her monkey, dog, and elephant impressions. She's also got a good Lion roar down which makes me laugh every time. And if we're ever out and about and she see's a dog, she starts "woofing" like crazy! She's sooo funny and adorable, and we're so loving this time in our lives.
And in Reagan news (because I can't post anything without including both my girlies!), she is still loving pre school, and she talks about going to kindergarten every day. She doesn't start until August of 2011, but she is excited nonetheless. Her preschool teachers have said that she's already ready for kindergarten, so hopefully she won't be too bored in pre school for another year!
She is as funny as ever too. Today she was saying "stupid" over and over as we were getting ready for dinner. After both Matt and I repeatedly told her to stop, that it was a bad word, etc. She chimes in with "Well, I'm just practicing saying it for when I'm a teenager. Teenagers say it all the time!" Oy! I'm soooo dreading the teenage years......
